1. Tell us about your craziest touring experience?

The craziest tour experience we’ve had was in our previous band… a show in Athens, Ohio. We were playing a festival called ‘Derby Days’, which was basically a mini Woodstock. Bands all day, lots of drunk college kids, pouring rain, and mud covering everything. We were the last band of the day. The stage was under a tent that had holes in it, which basically acted as a funnel and kept dumping water on us while we played. We thought we were going to be electrocuted. The crowd was insane. Girls got up on the stage and took their tops off. We ended up having to get our van towed because it was stuck in the mud.

2. What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?

Kira: I took a lot of dance classes in college and would love to take more. Modern dance is so freeing, and it is a great first class to take in the morning. It wakes you up and energizes you for the rest of the day.

3. What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?

Any time we are in Los Angeles or on the west coast we love to escape to Solvang for a day, a little Danish town full of amazing food, wine and majestic scenery. If you’ve seen the movie “Sideways” that’s the place we’re talking about. The night sky is so clear, you can see every star.

4. What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?

Kira: “Don’t dream it, be it.” – Rocky Horror Picture Show. My high school year book quote. Pretty solid advice.

5. What’s in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?

fun., Coldplay, Sleeping At Last, Jenny & Tyler, Civil Wars.

6. The last good book you read or TV show you’re addicted to?

The Office, anything on the Food Network, & The Walking Dead.

7. What’s the first concert you ever saw – how was it?

Kira: The Kinks. I was 6 years old and I loved it. My mom was a little annoyed with me because I had hiccups in the middle of the show and she had to help me get rid of them. I stood on a seat so I could see. Awesome first concert! The Kinks were such a big influence for me growing up. My parents were always playing their records.

8. What are three items you can’t live without on tour?

Kira: Bottled water, Emergen-C, Yogi Tea.
Nick: Ipod, Red Bull, pizza.
Jeff: Coffee, XM Radio, and Google maps (I have no sense of direction and my phone’s navigation has gotten us across the country many times.).
Frank: Fish oil, water, a good book.

9. Who are your major musical influences?

Kira: Pearl Jam, The Kinks, Queen, The Pretenders, Muse, Fiona Apple, The Darkness, Tom Petty, Coldplay.
Jeff: Green Day, Pearl Jam, U2, Queen, Huey Lewis & the News, Bruce Springsteen.
Nick: Weezer, Coldplay, Steve Jordan, The Killers.
Frank: Pink Floyd, The Beatles.
Their video for “Being Me” crushed the competition on this round of The Freshmen and will be added into rotation next week. Shout out to D-WHY as well whose fans also turned out in impressive numbers to support him. We’ll be back Monday with new videos from Dry The River, Mekka Don, Reema Major, Susan Justice and The Barr Brothers. Till then follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
