No One Is Creative With Resolutions Anymore

  by Quinn Marcus.

I interviewed Bostonians about their New Years Resolutions. What I learned is that most people don’t make them and no one ever keeps them. But when people do make a New Years Resolution it is most always related to diet and exercise. Everyone always wants to lose weight and eat healthier and work out more. No one is creative with resolutions anymore; they’re all the same. I want to make a resolution to eat whatever I want this year and the only work out I plan to do is the walk to the kitchen from the couch. I want to make a resolution that will be easy to keep and something I will look forward to. So I will also resolve to eat one candy bar a week this year. Well, that seems like a lot of candy bars. I don’t think I’d even want that many. Okay, I resolve to eat one candy bar a month. And maybe not every month. Maybe I should throw an apple in the mix, too. And maybe walk to the store to get it, you know, to get some fresh air and some exercise. Maybe this year I’ll eat healthier and work out more.
