The stars have closed their eyes, come.
The wine of light flows through the veins of night, come.
In the night’s lap I’ve shed so many waiting tears
that twilight has blossomed and dawn bloomed, come.
In my mind’s sky your memory etches lines of gold
like shooting stars, come.
I’ve sat so long with the night telling my tale of woe
that night and I have turned pale with sorrow, come.
If you would see me again if I were dying,
understand, this is the time, come.
Any footstep I hear I think it’s you,
my pounding heart wants to burst form my breast, come.
You didn’t come when the stars filled the sky like grapes,
now that one by one the dawn has picked them, come.
You’re the hope in the heart of Simin-the-broken-hearted,
don’t leave me in my hopelessness, come.
