Setting the concept of the warm and fuzzy graduation gift book on its ear, Kaplan brings back Edmund and Rosemary, the curiously compelling, hilariously relatable Brooklyn couple, for another adventure.

Starring Michael Cera (also of the Oscar® winning film, Juno, and Superbad) and based on the acclaimed novel by C.D. Payne, YOUTH IN REVOLT is the story of Nick Twisp – a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini – who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) while on a family vacation. But family, geography and jealous ex-lovers conspire to keep these two apart. With Sheeni’s encouragement, Nick abandons his dull, predictable life and develops a rebellious alter ego: Francois. With his ascot, his moustache and his cigarette, Francois will stop at nothing to be with Sheeni, and leads Nick Twisp on a path of destruction with unpredictable and uproarious consequences.

Youth In Revolt screenings are hitting colleges across the country and may be coming to a theater near you. We’ll be on-site at each screening, giving eligible entrants the chance to win a Francois Style Study Break to Paris for two.
Like many people, the author Jonathan Safran Foer spent his teens and early adulthood oscillating between omnivore and vegetarian. As a dabbler, he had vaguely considered his personal relationship with animals, but as a father, he realized that this relationship would become more important than ever before. Could he explain to his son why it was okay to love animals in the children’s books they were reading and also okay to eat them? And how would he explain that it’s okay to eat a chicken or a fish but not George, the child’s beloved, troublemaking pet dog? Because industry conceals the unsettling truth about its operations and few reliable public resources are available, Foer — undecided but compelled by the responsibilities of fatherhood — set out to discover for himself exactly what meat is, how it gets to our tables, and how we define what’s acceptable to consume and what isn’t. Along the way, he made eye-opening visits to factory farms in the middle of the night, observed pig-slaughter operations, and also found quiet heroes in some remarkably mindful animal farmers.
