We’ve been Mayday! fans here at mtvU for a while now. The sounds of MC Bernbiz (aka Bernardo Garcia) and producer/keyboardist Plex Luthor (aka Aaron Eckhart) reflect the diverse culture of their Miami-area upbringing and are not easily classified within the halls of hip-hop. The masses have taken notice thanks to the viral success of their video for “Groundhog Day,” a phenomenon that did not go unnoticed by the likes of The New York Times and ABC World News Tonight. With all that attention and their just months’ old self-titled debut album out, it wasn’t easy to get TKTKTKTKTKTKTK into the mtvU Hot Seat, but we did it. That’s how much we love you.

Q: What’s the first concert you ever saw? How was it?
A: Being that we’re from Miami, I am unashamed to say my first concert experience was at a bass club called Skylights. I was 14 and went to see two hyped up brothers and a dog do their hit single, “Doodoo Brown!” Ahhh, those were the days.
