Rob Barbato from Darker My Love shares a little sarcastic humor with Hot Seat. Or maybe he really is into levitating and we shouldn't belittle a well-respected practice? Either way, Barbato made sure to give us straightforward answers about sunglasses and Emergen-C, not to mention a whole lot more. Check it out now on this week's Hot Seat.

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.

Rob: We were in Philadelphia around Halloween. We went to this store and found this baby alien called Blix. So, for an hour we tried to decide whether or not to buy Blix. We didn't end up buying it and I have regretted it ever since. We were crazy for not buying Blix. The Memory of Blix shall haunt us forever more... so will Pat's cheese steaks!

Q: What type of college class would you'd most want to take and why?

Rob: I'd like to take a class on levitation. Floating through space and time should be a gen-ed requirement.

Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?

Rob: Of course New York is a blast, but I like going to Boston since I get to see a lot of friends and family. I also get to reenact my college days there.

Q: What's some of the best advice you were ever given?

Rob: Find what you love to do and do it.

Q: What's in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?

Rob: The Kinks: Lola Vs. Powerman & the Money-Go-Round, Part 1,
Cass McCombs: Dropping the Writ, Love: Forever Changes.

Q: The last good book you read or TV show you're addicted to.

Rob: Renegade: The Lives and Tales of Mark E. Smith. Yes, Tim and I were in The Fall, but this book is so funny. HBO's John Adams: Tim and I were both way into that show. It's amazing how they can make cliff hangers out of history!

Q: What's the first concert you ever saw - how was it?

Rob: I saw The Allman Brothers Band at the H.O.R.D.E. festival at Great Woods (Mansfield, Mass). It was rad, though I was trying to figure out what that weird smell was for most of the show.

Q: What are three items you can't live without on tour?

Rob: My Ray-Bans, Emergen-C, and that weird thing that I smelled at the Allman Brothers Show.

Q: Who are your major musical influences?

Rob: My friends. So many of them are the best song writers and musicians. I'm so lucky to have met great people who inspire me.

Q: Any random messages or tips you'd like to give to mtvU watchers?

Rob: Keep on truckin'!
