“Evil”
This video really held my attention, because the images were so sweet and classic Americana. Juxtaposed against the lyrics, it was very thought-provoking.
Jets Overhead
“I Should Be Born”
I have always been a fan of Antonia Freybe-Smith’s vocals, so it’s great to see her gaining even more strength and presence as an artist. The ending is very unexpected, considering the video is full of the anticipation of whether or not its two subjects will meet.
Johnny Flynn
“Kentucky Pill”
This song and video are like warm comfort food; inviting, just right, and always welcome. I love the eye-catching flash of the red scarf.
Juke Kartel
“If Only”
A sweet, melancholy love song. It appears to be seeking its own reflection and forgiveness.
Treal Lee & Prince Rick
“Throwed Off (Bump Everybody)”
I love that this song is really about catharsis and blowing off steam. The video fluctuates between the bright colors of the club and the black and white of the regular streetscape, highlighting the difference between those two situations.
