The Beatles were one of the most trendsetting artists ever. From their music, to their clothes, to their instruments you could always depend on the Fab Four to bring their unique sensibility to the forefront of pop culture. Many, many years after they invaded the U.S., those Brits are doing it again courtesy of The Beatles: Rock Band.
Later this year, (9.9.09 to be exact – just in time for the Fall semester) you’ll be able to virtually relive the careers of one of the most important bands in rock ‘n roll history, and you’ll be able to look good doing it. Announced earlier today, wireless versions of John Lennon and George Harrison’s Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet guitars (seen above) will be available to help complete the full Beatles experience. They join Sir Paul McCartney’s already announced Höfner bass controller, and Ringo Starrs’s Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums, with a classic pearl finish and vintage replica Beatles kick drum head. Its proof that if you decide to pick up the full Beatles: Rock Band set, you and your dorm mates will be rocking like the boys from Liverpool in no time.
It looks like the team at Harmonix is putting a lot of effort into the game making sure the art style and character likeness are dead on. And while there is still little known about the final version of the game, you can check out a sneak preview that Sir Paul showcased a few weeks ago during his set at Coachella.
