Santigold
Santigold (formerly known as Santogold) was one of the biggest breakout pop artists of 2008 and with songs like the deliciously upbeat and giddy “Lights Out”, it’s not hard to see why. It’s also no surprise that the song has been plucked for some high-profile marketing campaigns, most notably Bud Light Lime.
The track has a slinky 80’s-retro beat with Santi’s gorgeous voice floating on top providing the lovable “oh oh, oh oh” hook that anyone who has a TV will probably recognize. It’s simply a genius piece of pop songwriting and establishes Santigold as one of the most exciting new voices in music. The video that accompanies is a simple, yet visually striking work that features Santi performing in front of various colors and patterns all that match her outfit at the moment.
