Us bloggers over here at mtvU like lists. We like lists a lot. Most bloggers do. They’re neat and tidy and they help keep us organized. So without any fancy fanfare here our all of our personal top three happenings of last week.

1. Sean Avery’s return to the NEW YORK FRICKIN’ RANGERS. So sue me. I dig bad boys and this one had a great debut. Maybe my team can stop colossally sucking now.
2. The Interntional Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan. I was very glad to see some movement and acknowledgement of the atrocities that are being commited in Africa. To learn more about the situation click here and see how you can help.
3. Neko Case’s new album Middle Cyclone was released March 3rd but I am still digging it so it makes this list, especially the first track “This Tornado Loves You” and the way she capped off the album with ambient noise. Peaceful. Also for some reason I can’t stop listening to “Carpetbaggers” this week. Acid Tongue didn’t get enough buzz last year. Plus Jenny Lewis and I have the EXACT same haircut. But I would never wear that jacket. (Well… unless Jenny Lewis gave it to me as a present. Actually. Nevermind. No. I wouldn’t.)

1. The Miley Cyrus vs. Radiohead feud. Everything about this is fascinating from Hannah Montana saying she cried like a lot and left the Grammies early because Thom Yorke didn’t want to meet her to the music DJ that was interviewing her claiming to have never heard of Radiohead. The whole thing seems like it took place in a bizarro universe.
2. The song “Hazel” by electro-pop maestros Junior Boys, one of the best and catchiest tracks of the year. Straight-up 80’s-influenced electro club banger with a killer mid-section breakdown and a total synth explosion at the end. I’m obsessed with this song.
3. Michael Cera finally realizing he’s making a huge mistake and agreeing to do the Arrested Development movie. What a fun, sexy time for all of us. Huzzah!

1. Cursive released a new album (Mama, I’m Swollen). Pleasant surprise that came out of nowhere. Haven’t had time to give it a good listen yet, but if Happy Hollow is any indication of what this album will be like, then I’m sure I’ll be pleased.
2. I’m heading off to Colorado for spring break. No Cancun-style wet t-shirt contests, but definitely the highlight of my week.
3. This has been going down for several weeks now, but I am beyond happy that D.C. may finally get the congressional representation it deserves. However, this happiness could easily turn into uncontrollable rage if things go wrong (and that is very possible). Fingers crossed.

1. T.O. was released from the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. I was all ready to rejoice, as T.O. is my most hated player on my most hated team. However, the news was bittersweet, as I know that, as long as T.O. played for the Cowboys, they would never be a good team. I guess I’ll take the bad with the good.
2. Phoenix, one of my absolute favorite bands, gave away their newest single, “1901″ on their website for free, and also dropped their album artwork for Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, which comes out May 26th. After hearing the awesomeness that is “1901″, I am dying to hear the rest of the album.
3. I turned 21 on Wednesday. So yeah, that’s a favorite thing. Too bad it’s totally irrelevant here in Italia.
