As well as “the year of the ox,” 2009 is proving to be “the year of band comebacks.” Many bands have reformed and returned to life on the road. No Doubt is one of these bands to head back out on tour this year. They were never officially broken up, but like many bands they were on a hiatus without a definite promise of when they would return. The announcement of a summer tour was exciting news for old and new fans alike.

The new tour did not mean a new album quite yet. The band took a risky move by booking new shows without any new material to play. Their last release “Rock Steady” was released back in 2001, but tickets for the tour sold well and fans seemed more than content with old favorites. This doesn’t mean No Doubt doesn’t have any plans for new music.
