“Do you think Coachella is the next Woodstock?”

Settled in the middle of the crowd at the Coachella Stage, vaguely listening to Swedish rock band Peter Bjorn and John’s lackluster set, we twisted blades of grass between our fingers. It was already well past 5 p.m. on Sunday, the final day of the music festival, and the buzz from our noonday tailgating was fading with the setting sun. A slight desert breeze brought with it a faint whiff of marijuana, a smell that became more common than deodorant over the last three days.

“I’m not sure if we can ever go back to that era,” I replied.

“I think Coachella is the closest thing to getting there,” my friend countered. “The culture is very similar — the hippie culture, the hipster culture.” His thoughts drifted off as… Click here for the full article
