Wilco’s The Album Streaming Now, Stuart Murdoch’s New Project and More

Wilco

Wilco

Hey, did everyone hear that Wilco’s The Album is streaming on their site?! And yes I say this with a wee bit of sarcasm, as if you follow any music blogs and/or twitters at all you received this information in spades around 12 PM EST. I have been listening and so far… well you know what? I am going to withhold opinion as it’s just the first listen. So far the feedback I’ve been seeing is mixed. (I’m in agreement with Nathaniel on this song though.) What you think?

Time for the blog round-up. Gorilla vs. Bear has a great remix the Foals did of The Field’s “the more that I do.” Mouthful eh? So go listen to that and then head over to Neon Gold to snag a peep at Ellie Gould’s cover of Bon Iver’s “Wolves.” Ellie has a beautiful voice with just enough of a twang to it so its unique without being isolating.

You readers might also notice that I tend to link up to the same blogs time and again. I think, like with anything, you find what suits your tastes and grow to trust certain bloggers. The two I mentioned above, along with Nathaniel and Connor at IGIF, are tried and true music blogs that never fail me. They’re just a few off my blog roll but I would love recommendations from all of you as well. Also, I am constantly updating on Twitter so feel free to drop me a line there too.

I leave you with the first video off Stuart Murdoch’s new project God Help the Girl. Catherine Ireton sings the lead on “Monday Night” and apparently she was found via a contest ad that Murdoch put in a local Glasgow paper. That’s rad. Also, he is looking to stretch this project into a full-length feature film. Which could be awesome or completely horrible. I’ll call coin toss on that one. But this video is pretty cute.
