Blitzen Trapper
Dear mtvU,
Just a few AMAZING things have been catching the ol’ interest since the last time we spoke my favorite college network.
Did you hear that Sufjan Stevens wrote a song for Sofia Coppola? Um I LOVE Sofia Coppola. She married one of my favorite film directors Spike Jonze (btw did you know I was a pretentious hipster?) and then was all, “hey sorry Spike I have to go have Thomas Mars’s baby now.” And he was like, “No sweat girl, I’ll hook up with Jen from Dawson’s Creek” and everyone’s still friends. Because that’s what famous people do. Oh the song is really cute and touching and beautiful too. So is Sufjan’s blog.
I discovered Discovery! (I know, I am so clever right?) It’s the side project of Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles, which basically makes them an indie-super group with twice the power. Also, Vampire Weekend is coming out with a new album I guess? Eh? They will have to really impress me. I might be over them.
Fleet Foxes and Blitzen Trapper sing “Furr” together on stage! Robin Pecknold proposes via Twitter! Blitzen Trapper accepts! Robin Pecknold continues to have the best tweets ever! This is a lot of exclamation points!
mtvU as you know, we had a video premiere for “The Reeling” last week and I admitted I changed my original thoughts on this single. Well, Passion Pit decided to one-up me a step further by releasing “Moth’s Wings” and “Little Secrets” and now my own words have been stuffed back down my throat. Take a listen at Taylor’s blog. I never should have doubted them, mtvU. Crap! You have to tell them I’m sorry! Please?
Okay you little television channel you, it’s been fun but I have to go check back to checking the blogs. See you next week!
Love,
Lindsay
P.S. Did you see our friends from Promos on Pitchfork TV? Skip to the 6:40 mark for the good stuff.
