Deerhunter’s Unreleased “Disappearing Ink”

Our lucky duck friends over at the Subterranean Blog got to go hang out with Deerhunter in Atlanta and record them while they played their as-yet unreleased song “Disappearing Ink.” And I am not jealous of Subterranean at all. Nope. Not even the littlest teensy bit. Cause we all love each other here in the MTV family. (But seriously no one called me. I WOULD have gone to Atlanta. Just saying Subterranean.)

Bradford Cox’s voice continues to retain that haunted sound that has garnered the band such extensive praise. At times I find this can make listening to their music a peculiar, almost painful experience (particularly in light of some of the losses they have suffered) but there is no doubt that it is incredibly intriguing.

I love that as viewers we’re allowed into this room, filled to the brim with instruments, on a seemingly private creative session. An even more intimate level to an already personal, upfront band. Definitely worth your time.
