Van Halen
There’s only a handful of names that come to mind when discussions about who’s the greatest guitar player of all time; Hendrix, Clapton, Slash, Page… it’s really a matter of personal preference. One name that’s sure to make it into everyone’s top five is Eddie Van Halen, and now, thanks to Guitar Hero, you can see if you can hold your own against Pasadena, California’s greatest guitarist.
Late last week Activision announced that they were planning on continuing their band themed Guitar Herogames with the release of Guitar Hero: Van Halen later this year. When the game hits store shelves, you’ll be able to take a stole down memory lane with the Van Halen family and presumably (no tracks have been officially announced yet) rock out to classics like “Panama,” “Jump,” “Unchained,” and the song that has one of the greatest videos ever, “Hot For Teacher.”
You’ll be able to play as all the members of the band, except maybe Mr. Hagar (and he doesn’t really count anyway, right?), but the game is called “Guitar Hero” for a reason. So even if you’ve played before and maybe even mastered a few tracks on expert, can your fingers keep up with Eddie’s?
