The Bridges are burnin’ up The Hot Seat. This week the family/band members spill to us about where they would be had they not pursued music, what they learned from Rooney, and why you should watch music videos. Check out all the pieces, right here at mtvU.com.

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
The Bridges: We were in El Paso, TX heading to Albuquerque, NM and about 10 minutes into our drive our tire blew. We were stranded on the side of the fast lane on the interstate for an hour and a half waiting on AAA to show up but they never did. Eventually the state highway patrol stopped and helped us change our tire. We ended up being extremely late to our show and had to sound check in front of the crowd and just start the show immediately after. It was probably the craziest day we had the entire tour.
Q: What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?
The Bridges:
Brittany: I’d like to take a journalism class because I love writing and wanted to go into Journalism before music became my priority.
Stacey: I’d like to take a history class because I love watching the History Channel.
Jeremy: I’d be interested in several classes actually…culinary arts, a science class, and a music class. All three are really intriguing to me.
Natalie: I’d take a fashion design class because I’ve always been interested in it and I think things are way over priced.
Isaaca: I’d like to take a comparative religion class because I hear a lot about other religions and wonder how they parallel to Christianity. It just really interests me how other religions are similar.
Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?
The Bridges: We all really enjoy Chicago because every show there has been amazing with an unbelievably responsive crowd. The city itself is very intriguing and beautiful with lots of places to visit.
Q: What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?
The Bridges: The guys in Rooney were always giving us advice about the business side of music, which was very helpful and made us realize how important it is to be in the know of everything going on with your career, even when you think it is completely out of your hands. It all comes down to what YOU want for your music and what you think is best.
Q: What’s in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?
The Bridges: The new Allison Krauss and Robert Plant album.
Q: The last good book you read or TV show you’re addicted to.
The Bridges: We’re all pretty addicted to Family Guy…we watch it anytime it’s on TV
Q: What’s the first concert you ever saw - how was it?
The Bridges:
Brittany: Dashboard Confessional in NC. I was overwhelmed because I had no idea what to expect. Overall it was a good experience but I wasn’t the biggest fan and got the ticket for free and just went to see them.
Stacey: Hanson in Hollywood, FL and it was amazing.
Natalie: Hanson in Hollywood, FL and it was just ok because it was kind of small.
Isaaca: Keane in Atlanta, GA - it was absolutely amazing. He was pitch-perfect.
Jeremy: John Mayer in Atlanta, GA. It melted my brain…It was a musical adventure.
Q: What are three items you can’t live without on tour?
The Bridges:
Brittany: My iPod, a good pair of boots, and my camera?
Stacey: My iPod, a good book, and my phone.
Isaaca: Fingernail clippers, eye makeup remover, and my iPod
Jeremy: My bag that I have dubbed the name “Satchel”, my wallet, my iPod.
Natalie: Volumizer, tennis shoes, and my piano stand
Q: Who are your major musical influences?
The Bridges: We all would definitely agree with Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney, and Ryan Adams being very influential on our writing.
Q: Any random messages or tips you’d like to give to mtvU watchers?
The Bridges: Don’t watch videos to judge, watch them to enjoy! :)
