When we heard that Kenna didn’t make it all the way to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro, we had our doubts about whether or not he could hang with the Hot Seat. But then… we heard his record and oooooh mama did we change our minds. His Neptunes-produced, classic rock-inspired electronica will do things to your body that you may not understand. But do not fear it. Kenna is good for you. That’s why we chained him to our Hot Seat and made an honest man of him. Here’s how it went:

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
A: On the She Wants Revenge Tour our bus EXPLODED. The entire engine and back of the bus was destroyed by the fire. It was random and chaotic. My gear still smells like campfire gone wrong.
Q: What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?
A: Government and/or Economics again… there are so many things happening in the world that I am not well versed in. For the most part, those things are based on current and past governments and economies. I think it would be good to know the history of our problems today in order to help find the solutions.
Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?
A: I would have to give it up for Los Angeles. It’s the only place where you can surf and snowboard in the winter, on the SAME DAY.
Q: What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?
A: I was told once that “a man is not one that can move the world, but one that the world cannot move.”
Q: What’s in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?
A: I love and live to the new Kings Of Leon album [Because Of The Times]. A friend turned me on to it and I fell for it head first.
Q: The last good book you read or TV show you’re addicted to.
A: HEROES - it’s a “wannabe Hero” complex. The same reason I love Spiderman. These are everyday people (fictional) that somehow became heroes. I want to be a hero and help others.
Q: What’s the first concert you ever saw - how was it?
A: I cant remember. I think it was The Fugees at the Boathouse in Virginia. That was with The Roots. Dope.
Q: What are three items you can’t live without on tour?
A: Throat Coat Tea, XBox and Gabi (Ethiopian Blanket).
Q: Who are your major musical influences?
A: Too many to list, but to name a few, Talking Heads, U2 and Michael Jackson… Classic artists.
Q: Any random messages or tips you’d like to give to mtvU watchers?
A: Dont sleep. Do the little things… you can’t always just jump into the light. It takes time to discover your talent.
