Interview With Mark Hartman From Junior Doctor

The appropriately named Junior Doctor is a rock band made up of Florida med school dropouts who are on a mission to spread their hook-laden rock n’ roll as a roving band of M.D.’s (Music Doctors that is.) We got to ask lead singer/guitarist Mark Hartman a few questions below…

1. Tell us about your craziest touring experience?
Well we were in Niagara Falls NY at our hotel on a day off and decided to order Pizza. We looked online and found a place 17 miles away. So we called, ordered and paid for our food over the phone. We decided to save money on delivery and pick it up. So we headed to the Pizza place, and turns out…. it was in Canada. Thanks to Border Patrol, we never got our pizza.

2. What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?
I would love to take a course on Video Editing. I do all of the editing for our tour updates and videos and I would love to get better at it.

3. What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?
I loved Chicago! Deep dish Pizza, Chicago Dogs, Wrigley Field (Funky Buttlovin’?), and last but not at all the least, It’s Gotham City!

4. What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?
“The last person to give up wins” -James E. Meyers Jr.

5. What’s in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?
Two records I have been listening to a lot lately are “Tourist History” by Two Door Cinema Club and “Curse Your Branches” by David Bazan.

6. The last good book you read or TV show you’re addicted to?
I am currently obsessed with the show Breaking Bad. I’m a HUGE comic book fan, and the last great comic book story I read was an old one but SO GOOD, The Watchmen

7. What’s the first concert you ever saw - how was it?
My first concert was in when I was 14. I saw MxPx at a hole in the wall bar in Melbourne FL. They were touring their record Life In General and I loved it! I will never forget that show.

8. What are three items you can’t live without on tour?
My phone (but who can’t live without that….ever?), Headphones, and my Superman Snuggie.

9. Who are your major musical influences?
Blink 182, Elton John, David Bazan, Vroom x2
