Esser stops by and talks McGriddles, hairspray, and Desmond Decker in this week’s Hot Seat.
1. Tell us about your craziest touring experience.
Esser: We once ate Mcgriddles straight for 14 days and 14 nights. Then when I fell asleep ronald Mcdonald/the devil came to me in a dream. He said that I had to write a song for the new Mcdonalds advert or else he wouldn’t let MTVu play my video.
2. What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?
Esser: I’d take street dance or renewable energy studies.
3. What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?
Esser: I wish the record label would let us do a show and then spend a week in each city. Unfortunately they’re not doing that at the moment so on this last tour we didn’t get to see much, which was a shame. But from what I did see San Francisco was pretty amazing, Id also like to go to the desert in LA.
4. What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?

7. What’s the first concert you ever saw - how was it?
Esser: Probably a bad metal band at the Army and Navy. I used to watch ‘Ism’ Quite a lot!! They were a local nu metal band and they did a metal cover of Destinys Child “Jumpin Jumpin” which was brilliant!
8. What are three items you can’t live without on tour?
Esser: Toothbrush, Korg smIIk, Hairspray
9. Who are your major musical influences?
Esser: Fun Boy Three, Joe Meek and Desmond Dekker
