Azeem’s a talented a gifted rapper who takes on the world on his new album, but can he handle our Hot Seat questions? Read on to find out.

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.

Azeem: On tour in Australia with Talib Kweli we got caught up in a bar fight with an Australian motorcycle gang and ended up almost knocking out our promoter with a flying bottle of Grey Goose.

Q: What type of college class would you’d most want to take and why?

Azeem: I’d want to take Japanese calligraphy cause it would make me seem a lot more educated than I really am.

Q: What city in America is the most fun to visit and why?

Azeem: My favorite city is Miami because it has everything that an island boy like myself enjoys.

Q: What’s some of the best advice you were ever given?

Azeem: Know thy self.

Q: What’s in heavy rotation in your MP3/CD player right now?

Azeem: I’m bumpin’ a lot of Movado, which is melodic Jamaican gangsta music.

Q: The last good book you read or TV show you’re addicted to.

Azeem: The last good book I read was “River God” by Wilbur Smith. It’s a story about ancient Egypt.

Q: What’s the first concert you ever saw - how was it?

Azeem: First concert I ever saw (beleave it or not) I was in 10th grade, I got in the Cameo Club in Miami using my brothers ID and it was Janes Addiction opening up for Love and Rockets. It was the wildest s*** I ever seen.

Q: What are three items you can’t live without on tour?

Azeem: My herbal medication, my IPOD, and a big stick.

Q: Who are your major musical influences?

Azeem: Sex Pistols, Sizzla, and Bad Brains.

Q: Any random messages or tips you’d like to give to mtvU watchers?

Azeem: Azeem’s better than your favorite rapper times 10 and I’m humble too.
