Grimes is one of those rare artists whose unique personal and artistic style serves as not just an example of ‘cool’ but as an authorization and inspiration for all of us to be a little more uniquely ourselves and therefore ‘cool.’ Combine this with her amazing voice and music and it is clear why she has been on fire lately. Visions, her 4th release in two years and 1st with the tastemaking label 4ad is out now.
So congrats to Grimes and be sure to keep an ear out for all of our Freshmen 5 artists this summer.
