Without a doubt, Passion Pit was the undisputed love of the blogosphere in 2008 and it looks as though they will hold unto that title throughout 2009 as well. Releasing debut LP Manners on May 19th as a follow-up to the Chunk of Change EP, the group is lead by lead-singer/songwriter Michael Angelakos. He is joined by Ian Hultquist on guitar, Ayad Al Adhamy on keyboards/synth, Jeff Apruzzese on bass, and Nate Donmoyer on drums. What originally started as a mix tape for Angelakos’s girlfriend has grown into a total sensation, with Passion Pit demonstrating how utterly charming, honest, and full of soul synth-pop can be.
