Crystal Castles got their name from the fictional home of She-Ra in the He-Man comic series, but there is nothing fictional about how success has hit this duo with superhuman power. The two have somehow managed to take power-pumping noise, synth sounds from a 70’s keyboard with an Atari videogame sound chip, other random bits and bytes, and turn what was intended to be something original into music that thrill seekers everywhere can embrace. Anyone who can’t stand to be pigeonholed will certainly find a friend and musical muse in Crystal Castles.
