Eclectic, simple, versatile, sexy. When I thought of my top ten videos, I did not envision anything with over-the-top graphics or particularly extreme production. I thought of ten songs that I could listen to all day, with music videos that don’t overshadow the songs or take away from their meaning. You don’t have to always match: a song with a heavy bass line or spellbinding instrumental does not need a visual representation to “match…” instead, the song deserves a video that compliments it. We’ve all seen it before; an artist’s song plays for months, people love it and wait anxiously for a video… and when that video drops, it’s a such a disappointment that the song isn’t that fulfilling anymore. Every time I hear these songs, I enter a zone. When I watch the videos, my vibe gets even deeper… I just wish I could do a top 20 list because this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.
