WMUC - FM is the student-run, non-commercial FM radio station licensed to the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. WMUC is broadcast at 10 Watts on 88.1 FM. It is a freeform radio station staffed entirely by UMD students. WMUC is one of the oldest college radio stations - it started broadcasting in 1937. WMUC offers a wide variety of programming including indie, metal, world, folk, techno/trance, talk show, and even a show devoted to video game music. The station also airs live music every Sunday evening during Third Rail Radio. During this show musicians come into the studio to perform and record their music.
