About KXLU
KXLU is a non-commercial, educational station broadcasting from the Westchester campus of Loyola Marymount University. KXLU offers a diverse and eclectic range of free form, commercial free radio to the Los Angeles community and to the world via KXLU. KXLU broadcasts live 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
As listener supported radio, KXLU offers a widely diverse and alternative programming schedule which includes the following genres: progressive and independent rock, classical, opera, world, dance, country, metal, noise, jazz, punk, kids, ginecore, oldies, surf, psychedelic, reggae, theater & film as well as being home to one of the most successful and longest running Latin radio programs in the country, Alma Del Barrio.
KXLU offers one of the only opportunities in the Los Angeles radio market for students to gain practical experience in all aspects of radio broadcasting. This experience extends to all areas of station operation: broadcasting, programming, technical engineering, production, public affairs, promotions, sales, and management.
