Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Fight Like Apes originally garnered chuckles from the music critics for their long comical song titles. That was before they heard the vocals of tiny Maykay rip through the thrumming bass chords. Citing indie bands like Yo La Tengo and Los Campesinos! as inspiration, Fight Like Apes released their first LP Fight Like Apes and the Mystery of the Golden Medallion in September 2008 only to find themselves headlining tours several months later. They bring their powerful energy to Ahead of the Curve with single “Tie Me Up With Jackets.”
