GENERAL
1. How do I send a text Message?
All phones have different menu options and buttons and you should consult your user manual for specific instructions for your phone. Generally, however, by going to the MESSAGES option, selecting TEXT MESSAGE and then choosing NEW MESSAGE/WRITE MESSAGE your phone will open a new text message. In the message area use the keypad to type in the keyword associated with the mobile service you would like (you may have to press the numeric key more than once to display the letter you would like to type). In the area where it asks for the phone number, type in the 5-digit short code 22444 and press SEND/SELECT. If you are still unsure please see your phone’s user manual for instructions on text messaging.

2. What is a Short Code?
A short code is like a phone number; however it is easily recognizable and usually has 5 digits. For the Spring Break Sweepstakes it is 22444.

3. What is a Keyword?
The Keyword is the word you send in your text message that identifies the service your message goes to. To enter the Spring Break Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for you and 3 friends to mtvU’s 2010 Spring Break text your email address to 22444.

4. What happens after I have sent my email address to the Short code?
After you have successfully sent your email address to the short code you will receive a message back confirming your entry into the sweepstakes. It usually takes less than a minute. However, sometimes there are delays on the network and it can take several hours to receive a confirmation back.

5. What if I do not receive a confirmation message?
If you are sure you sent a valid email address to the correct shortcode, it can be that there is a delay on the network. Network congestion and bandwidth will sometimes slow the sending/receiving of text messages. It could be your cell phone carrier is not one that participates in the Spring Break Sweepstakes. The participating carriers are Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile®, Sprint, Alltel, Dobson/Cellular One and Nextel/Boost. However, if it has been over 24 hours since you have sent your message and you have not received a confirmation text message you can contact info@telescope.tv for technical assistance.

6. Does my phone carrier support 2 way text messaging?
Most phone carriers in the United States support text messaging. The participating carriers for the Spring Break Sweepstake are Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile®, Sprint, Alltel, Dobson/Cellular One and Nextel/Boost.

7. Does my phone support 2 way text messaging?
Most new phones support 2 way text messaging. Consult your user manual for specifics on your handset.

SWEEPSTAKES
1. Who can participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes?
Anyone who is a legal resident of the 48 contiguous United States and District of Columbia, EXCLUDING ALASKA AND HAWAII, 18 years or older (and not a minor in his/her state of residence) can participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes. To participate via text you must be a subscriber of a participating wireless carrier. The wireless carriers participating are Alltel, AT&T Wireless, Boost, Cingular Wireless, Dobson/Cellular One, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile®, and Verizon Wireless.

2. When can I participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes?
The Sweepstakes entry period starts at 12:00:01 AM (ET) on November 16, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on December 31, 2009. Please see Official Rules.

3. How can I participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes?
There are 4 ways to participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes: (1) standard rate text message - plus message and data rates may apply, (2) online, (3) US mail and (4) by being a Citi mtvU credit card holder as explained in the Official Rules.

For text messaging, wireless subscribers with 2 way text messaging capabilities can text their email address to the short code 22444 OR you may visit StudyBreak.mtvU.com to enter online. Limit one entry per entry method per day. If you try to enter more than once via text, web, on by using your Credit Card your entries will not be counted, but if extra entries are done by text, message and data rates may apply. 4. How many times can I participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes?
You can participate an unlimited number of times via mail and by using your Citi mtvU card. You can also participate up to 1 time per day via text message and online. Any additional attempts from a unique mobile number or e-mail address will NOT count but message and data rates may apply for non-eligible text messaging entries.

5. How much does it cost to participate in the Spring Break Sweepstakes?
If you use a wireless phone to participate using text messaging, message and data rates may apply. Please check your plan with your phone company to know the exact rate for sending a text message. Online participation is subject to your normal Internet access charges.

7. How do I quit, cancel, unsubscribe?
