There was definitely some high quality videos battling it out on this weeks Freshmen with a lot of impassioned fans stumping for their artists and occasionally getting a bit overenthused. Peeps would do good to remember that this is intended to be a good natured contest, if artists can’t be chill to one another where does that leave us? In any case real props to all the bands this week who definitely have rabid followings. Trigg Da Kidd’s video for “Racks and Rubberbands” will be added into rotation next week. It was a hip hop battle royale this week as Tom P and Abrasive went at in the polls. Congrats to Tom P and the feisty fan base that helped him come out on top in the end. “Wicked” will be added into rotation next week. Props to Abrasive as well for coming in a strong second with their video for “Shell Tops No Laces.” Have a dope weekend and we’ll be back next Monday with 5 new videos for your consideration.

This week marked the official beginning of spring and it seems that the warming temperatures and lengthening days helped make the sun-infused, surf pop vibe of Malibu’s Brandon and Leah too tough to beat on this weeks Freshmen. The duo ran away with the vote after a close start early in the week with PUi coming in second. Their video for “Life Happens” will be added into rotation next week. Mekka Don went all Don Corleone ‘Godfather’ on this weeks Freshmen and ruled the vote with an iron fist. The Barr Brothers came in a distant second. “Dirty” will be added into rotation next week. Congrats to Mekka Don, who obviously has a fierce fanbase.
